SHAUN MCGUINNESS

Shaun has 29 Years of High School Basketball Coaching Experience (1980 – Present) as a Head Coach of girls and boys teams at Handsworth Secondary, West Vancouver Secondary and Hillside School. He is currently an Assistant Coach with the University of British Columbia Women’s Basketball team where he helped them win a National Championship in 2006 and 2008. Shaun has extensive experience working with high level athletes as an assistant coach at the Centre of Performance from 2000-2007. He was also the Head Coach of several successful provincial teams including the 2004 U15 Midget team and the 2006 U17 Juvenile team that won gold medals at the National Championships. Shaun was the recipient of the 1999 3M National Coach of the Year Award and was honoured as the 2000 North Shore Coach of the Year. Shaun is a NCCP Level 3 certified coach and currently a teacher and Athletic Director at West Vancouver Secondary School. |
