By Vancouvertitans.com -- The Vancouver Titans have added a new face to their line-up. 6’11” North Vancouver product, Scott Morrison, will join the team for Sunday’s game versus the Japan Tornadoes. Morrison is expected to have an immediate impact. Morrison played his high-school ball at Argyle Secondary on Vancouver’s North Shore before heading to Oregon to play his college hoops at Portland State. While at Portland State, Morrison averaged double-digit points per game, and played in the NCAA’s March Madness tournament. Morrison joins the Titans after having previously rejected offers from two other IBL teams. Morrison describes the decision to join the Titans, “I want to support basketball growing in Vancouver, and B.C., and Canada in general. I think it’s a great opportunity to do that and showcase not only what the IBL can offer but what Vancouver and local talent can offer.” Although Morrison joins the Titans mid-season, he will be in game shape when he hits the floor at the Langley Events Centre on Sunday. He has just returned from a professional season in Europe, and expects a smooth transition to the IBL. “The adjustment [from the European league] is easy,” says Morrison. ““It is still basketball when you break it down… it’s just five guys getting after it hard.” Titans head coach David Petroziello looks forward to big things from his latest acquisition. “Adding Scott to our roster is adding a major piece of the puzzle for us in our inaugural season,” says Petroziello. “He is a proven commodity, and will immediately have an impact on and off the floor. The Titans organization as a whole is very pleased Scott came home to play this spring.” View the vancouvertitans.com article here. |
