Hoops4Hope is a non-profit organization that uses basketball as a tool to educate children in South Africa about HIV/AIDS and teach them SKILLS4LIFE. Many of the children Hoops4Hope works with are from impoverished areas where they do not have access to the necessities of everyday life that we are accustomed to here in North America. Hoops4Hope is putting on a Shoot-A-thon at various school gyms in the Lower Mainland. The goal of the Shoot-A-Thon is to have as many participants shoot as many shots as possible. Each participant will receive a pledge form and collect donations. The event will take place Nov. 22nd from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Andre Piolat School. Mark Crandall, the founder of Hoops4Hope, will be visiting the Lower Mainland from New York to speak to 3D athletes at this year's event. The goal for the combined Shoot-A-Thon is to raise $25,000 for the Youth Centre in South Africa. |

October 14, 2009 - 3D Basketball Academy will work in conjunction with Hoops4Hope in its 2nd Annual Shoot-A-Thon to help raise funds for a youth center for needy children in South Africa.
