FALL SEMESTER

Basketball Training:
3 Daytime practices per week
2 Evening practices per week

Level 10 Strength and Conditioning Training:
2 Workouts with Strength and Conditioning Coach per week
1 Workout by themselves per week

The 3D Elite Development Academy begins with our fall training session. During this time coaches will evaluate the athletes on and off the court with fitness testing, strength testing, and overall skill assessment. The basketball coaches are focused on individual skill development, technique, introduction of new individual and team concepts, as well as overall fitness. The strength and conditioning coach will introduce the athletes to activities to increase strength, power, flexibility, speed, coordination, and conditioning. Each athlete will be tested and given a 12 week program specific to their needs. Athletes will participate in local exhibition games and U.S. tournaments.

WINTER SEMESTER

Basketball Training:
3 Daytime practices per week
1 Optional Shooting practice per week

Level 10 Strength and Conditioning Training:
2 Workouts with Strength and Conditioning Coach per week

The winter training sessions will be much more focused on the individual needs of each athlete. Since all EDA athletes will be in their competitive phase during this time, 3D basketball coaches will work a lot on shooting and individual skill development. With a heavy practice and game schedule for each athlete, coaches will also introduce mental training techniques such as visualization, imagery, positive talk, pre game routines, team building, and nutrition to help the mental part of their games. Coaches will also analyze video tape with the athletes to try to help each athlete improve their knowledge of the game. The strength and conditioning coach will scale back each athletes' program, giving them a program focused on maintaining their fitness and strength that they have been working on through their fall sessions.

SPRING SEMESTER

Basketball Training:
3 Daytime practices per week
2 Evening Practices per week

Level 10 Strength and Conditioning Training:
2 Workouts with Strength and Conditioning Coach per week
1 Workout by themselves per week

The spring training sessions have 2 different components. For grade 12 athletes the focus will be on training them to get ready for their post secondary careers. With experienced college coaches helping this group of athletes, they will learn advanced team concepts, high level moves, and high intensity workouts. They will also learn about recruiting, academic standards, and eligibility rules. For the younger athletes the focus will be on training for their spring and summer club season. These athletes will begin to practice more advanced offensive and defensive concepts and begin practicing with their 3D Elite teams. Their strength and conditioning program will again be re-designed for each athlete to train their body to increase their strength, speed, power, and flexibility. Athletes will play in exhibition and tournament games during this period.
